Journle Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 16, 2026
Overview
Journle is designed to be private, calm, and minimal.
We do not use advertising SDKs. We do not track you across apps or websites. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your journal entries to build advertising profiles, marketing audiences, or behavioral analytics.
The app stores your journal content using Apple iCloud / CloudKit so your data can exist in your private iCloud account and sync across your devices.
Information We Handle
To make the app work, the app may handle:
Journal entries you create in the app
Optional color markings you assign to entries
Basic app configuration and preferences
Subscription status required to determine access to paid features
Technical information provided by Apple to enable iCloud syncing and App Store purchases
We do not use your journal content for advertising, cross‑app tracking, or analytics.
Where Your Data Is Stored
Your journal data is stored through Apple's CloudKit service in connection with your iCloud account.
This means your content is primarily stored through Apple's infrastructure to enable syncing and storage, rather than being used by us for advertising or profiling. Your access to iCloud and CloudKit is also subject to Apple's own terms and privacy practices.
No Ads, No Tracking
does not include third‑party advertising
does not track you across apps or websites
does not use your entries for targeted advertising
does not sell personal information
does not intentionally collect analytics about the content of what you write
Subscription and Payments
If you purchase a subscription, payment is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your full payment card information.
We may receive limited subscription‑related information from Apple, such as whether you have an active subscription, so the app can provide the correct level of access.
Data Retention
Your journal entries remain available in the app unless they are deleted by you, removed from your iCloud account, or otherwise affected by Apple's iCloud storage and account controls.
If you uninstall the app, data previously stored in iCloud / CloudKit may remain associated with your iCloud account unless you remove it through Apple's systems or delete it from within the app, if that functionality is available.
Your Choices
Depending on your device and Apple account settings, you may be able to:
Control iCloud access for the app
Manage or cancel your subscription through Apple
Delete the app from your device
Security
We take reasonable steps to keep the app simple and privacy‑respecting. However, no service or method of electronic storage is completely secure.
Because storage and syncing rely on Apple services, some aspects of security and data handling are also governed by Apple's systems.
International Users
If you use the app outside the country where the developer is based, your information may be processed through Apple's services and infrastructure as needed to provide iCloud syncing, App Store purchasing, and related functionality.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
